We'd like you to meet the people behind Sqillzer. Knowing the people better is knowing Sqillzer better ;-)

So from now on every week we will introduce one of the people who helps make Sqillzer happen. Starting this week with Mascha Driessen.

Please introduce yourself...

My name is Mascha Driessen. I am Regional Director Advertising & Online Western Europe at Microsoft.

What do you do as a Regional Director Advertising & Online?

For six countries - The Netherlands, Belgium, Austria, Switzerland, Ireland and Portugal - in Europe I am responsible for Microsoft’s advertiser funded business model. Each of my countries has a team consisting of Sales, Business Development and Trade Marketing, lead by a Country Manager. These teams monetize our platforms Skype, Xbox, MSN, Bing and Outlook through online Ads. To enable my teams to get the best out of themselves, I spend on average 2 to 3 days outside of my home country The Netherlands.

And what do you do for Sqillzer?

I am a member of Sqillzer's Digital Expert Board. Based on my experience, I have a great deal of knowledge of online video, I have helped Sqillzer with putting together lists of questions which are being used in the tests. Besides that I love to help with my network, to connect them to the right people.

What should people know about you as a person?

I only look forward, never have regrets, am a fast thinker, do no believe in revenge, am optimistic, often take risks, go to win, can’t stand people that do not care, have high standards, think and act like a man (so they say), standing still is going backwards, I’m seldom angry, enjoy life 100%, am at my best when something seems impossible, eat everything not to loose weight, don’t read books and am absolutely very good at doing nothing, something one wouldn’t expect. And I always post my deserts on Facebook!

What should people now about you professionally?

I started my career at the biggest commercial broadcaster RTL, where as a TV Planner I booked Unilever TVC’s in the commercial breaks of the Dutch TV shows Wheel of Fortune and Coffee Time. That was 13 February 1995. This February I’ll be working in media for 20 years, and I am still learning. Each and every day. Luckily I still know more than my two kids where it comes to online, who are 10 and 13 years old ;-)

Between 2009 and 2013 I was working for Google and launched YouTube in the Benelux, in all aspects. My kids say YouTube is cool. And I am still cool, because Microsoft has Xbox, Skype and Minecraft. Happy to still be a cool mam.
