Please introduce yourself...

I'm Erika van der Bent. And I'm a Visual designer. As a visual designer I am responsible for balancing usability with desirability - using, style, type, icons, color, photo’s and visual hierarchy to clarify data, indicate relationships, hint at behavior, and communicate about a brand. In collaboration with an interaction designer and the client.

I’m specialized in interfaces for the web and mobile devices, interactive experiences and branding. I am running design studio Geeft Vorm since 2010. Starting my own company gave me the opportunity to collaborate with some of the leading digital agencies and brands.

And what do you do for Sqillzer?

Sqillzer asked me to create a new design for their website, in collaboration with the Sqillzer team, logo designer and interaction designer. It was important that the site was easy to navigate and to introduce people in a clear way to Sqillzer, so they are able to choose the product that’s best for them.

It’s always a pleasure to work with the Sqillzer team. They are easy to work with, a creative, hard working and very professional team. I appreciate that they are always quick to respond and are constantly coming up with innovative suggestions and ideas.

What should people know about you as a person?

I am a passionate surfer and traveler. I like to discover the world, far away and close by. Always in search for good waves, the best coffee/food/work spots and inspirational people. I love the outdoor life.

What should people now about you professionally?

Besides my regular design work I like to organize design meetups. There is a huge design community that loves to get together in person. These meetups are a chance for designers to meet their design heroes, socialize, get inspired and share knowledge, while sipping good coffee or enjoying a couple of beers. When I’m not doing one of those things I described above, it is very likely that I’m searching the web for the latest tech, design and gadget news. I share my findings daily on Twitter @geeftvorm.
