Please introduce yourself...

Hi, my name is Astrid de Hoon. I'm a Communications Management student and graduate trainee at Sqillzer. In a couple of months I will have my Bachelor's degree in Communications Management. And I can call myself a communications professional.

Communications Management is a very broad education. It is up to yourself if you want to specialize or let it be that broad. School subjects like 'Digital Communication' and 'Marketing' are part of the curriculum. But also different subjects like e.g. 'Semiology'. Next to theory you gain practical experience through two internships and by running several practical assignments for real companies.

Mainly I focus on the online business. That’s because it fits me well, it’s something that I like and where (I think) the future lays.

And what do you do for Sqillzer?

At the moment I am working on a research project, that eventually will lead to a communication advice/strategy for them.

In short my research is about 'how' potential clients should be approached by Sqillzer. Based on these results I will write a marketing/sales strategy. I think it’s a very nice, interesting and educational project. I can’t wait till the final results!

What should people know about you as a person?

In my spare time I'm an action kind of girl. Never a dull moment. Think of things like karting, indoor skydiving, lasergaming, snowboarding. You name it.

But of course I am a girl... So I also really like to go shopping, especially online shopping.

What should people now about you professionally?

If everything is progressing according to plan, I will get my Communications Management Bachelor degree in March 2015. Then I can finally call myself a real communications professional! Can’t wait!
