Please introduce yourself...

My name is Rick Brink. I’m a Business Commerce student and graduate at Sqillzer. At the end of this semester I can call myself 'Marketing & Communication professional'.

After 3 years of standard Economics education, I started to focus on Online Marketing, through the minor 'Marketing Tomorrow'. This probably was the most exciting semester of my study (besides this internship at Sqillzer of course ;-)), as it suits my interests very well. I am really into innovations, gadgets and technology, which are a big part of Online Marketing. During this minor I also started a webshop called Glazenscreenprotectors.nl, where you can buy glass screen protectors for smartphones and tablets.

And what do you do for Sqillzer?

Sqillzer was founded on the experience of the three partners and interviews with specialists in the field. Perfectly ok for a startup. But once you grow you need better fundamental insight into who your target market exactly is and what challenges/needs it encounters before, during and after the hiring proces.

I am doing my research mostly through surveys and interviews. This should lead to a concrete marketing strategy, positioning and personas of the target groups. This strategy will eventually lead to even more licensing and testing on the platform.

What should people know about you as a person?

I am an addict… Both coffee and gadgets are a big problem in my life ;-) I receive packages with useless gadgets almost once a week, and I check Kickstarter and Indiegogo pretty often. Not during work time of course! ;-)

What should people now about you professionally?

In 2014 I started my webshop with two friends from college. I always wanted to start a webshop, but until last year never had the time to do it. It was very exciting to send the first packages to unknown people all over the Netherlands. After a few weeks we added Belgium and we are currently looking at the possibilities in Germany.
